Native American Display at the Library

In honor of the indigenous people of this country the Turin Library has local and southwestern items on display through the month of November . The Lewis County Historical Society has loaned stone implements and arrowheads found in the county.  Winona Einhorn has graciously lent a Iroquois head dress, drum and many other items.  The southwestern artifacts are from the collection of Barb Oeschger of Lyonsdale.  Be sure to stop in to have a look at this fascinating display. the library hours are Monday 3-6:00, Wednesday 1-9:00 and Thursday 7-9:00.

Fiddle Fun with Jackie Hobbs!

Jackie Chereshnoski Hobbs (granddaughter of the late Alice Clemens, and inductee in the North American Fiddlers Hall of Fame) will entertain us with wonderful fiddle music. If people are interested, she will even call a square or contra dance, as well! Join us for some great "old-time" community fun! Great for people of all ages!

We are looking for old photos to scan!

The Turin Library is looking for old photos of the area to possibly put in our annual calendar.  We have used a large percentage of the ones we already have, and are hoping to gain some more for our database.  If anyone has some neat old photos they would like to share, they can scan them and email them to us at turlib@ncls.org or bring them to the library and we will scan them on the spot and return them to you right then.  Dig in those drawers, and show us what you’ve got!
