Bells and Motley Perform on July 27th at 6:00!

Join us for a wonderful participatory program about "15 miles on the Erie Canal".  Bells and Motley return with songs, instruments, jokes, and tales about live on the Erie Canal.  We will have free ice cream floats after this hilarious free program at the Turin Library.

Week Four of Summer Reading... "Kids Make Solar Ovens and Bells and Motley Perform!

Make a Solar Oven! Wednesday July 26th at 4:00. Yes, with a box and other supplies, kids will learn how to make a solar oven to take home, thermometer and all!  Join us on July 26th at 4:00 for this great program by Ed Falk.

Bells and Motley on the Erie Canal!  Thursday, July 27th, Bells and Motley will be at the library with their lively, funny, and silly participatory program of events and music on the Erie Canal. Try some instruments, sing some songs, and hear great stories!  Wonderful program for people of all ages.

Growing and Using Herbs Program on Thursday, June 8th

The Turin Library will be having a program on Growing and Using Herbs on Thursday, June 8th at 7:00. Sharon Stewart from Garden Thyme Herbs, will be discussing how to grow herbs in your garden, and the different ways to use them. There will be plenty of handouts, and participants will receive a free herb plant to take home! (While supplies last)

Garage Sale Day Saturday, May 6th 8:30-3:00

The Turin Library will be holding their 26th Annual Garage Sale Day on May 6th from 8:30-3:00.  Join us for a fun day of garage sales, book sale, great food, and more!  We will have many garage sales throughout the village and surrounding areas.  This year it will be set up slightly different.  The maps, donuts, coffee and bake sale, and book sale will be at the library and the Turin Firemen will be having the chicken barbecue.

Bicycle Tune-up Workshop

On Friday, April 21st from 10-12:00 there will be a bicycle tune-up workshop here at the library.  Bring your bike by to get it ready for the riding season.  Chains lubed, gears and brakes adjusted, flats fixed, and shop talk!  Hands-on experience for both young and old!

Another Rubberband Racer Night April 19, 4-6:00!

Design and build your own racer. ( We'll have some grownups to help, but kids 7 and under should bring their own assistance.)  After they are built we will have some thrilling races!!! Then take it home where you can redesign it and change it up and experiment!  Only 10 kids can join us this round, so sign up early if you are interested !  Kids that participated last time are welcome to join us again.  They can bring their parts from last time and add on to it, or start fresh with a brand new kit.

Bluebird Program and Nest Box Building

John Rogers, (a specialist on our New York State bird) will be here on April 8th at 1:30 with a delightful Powerpoint Presentation on bluebirds.  The program should take about 45 minutes and is free to all. Then all are welcome to stay and  build their own bluebird nesting box to take home.  Each nesting kit will be $9.00, and should be easy to complete in about 30 minutes.  This is an excellent program for families, but children under 12 should have an adult to help them with construction.

Open Mike Night!

Everyone is welcome  (7th grade and up), to show us what you've got!!!!  Join us for an Open Mike Night on April 7th from 7-9:00.  Whether it is singing, poetry, dance, instruments, etc.... we want to see it! Contact the library to sign up.  And if you don't want to show off your talents, come and support those who do!

Basket Making Class March 18th

Join us at the library for a wonderful basket making class.  Adirondack Green House Basketry will help participants weave an 8" by 16" market basket with a steam bent oak handle, a choice of accent colors and a decorative buckle.  The cost is $70.00 per person and it will take approximatley 4 to 5 hours to complete.  Participants should bring their own snacks and drinks.  There are only 6 slots left so call 348-6433, or message us if you are interested.
