Pav's Presentation on Serbia!

Join us on Thursday, April 18th at 7:00 for a great evening learning about the Serbian culture, customs, and history!  Pavle Jovanovic, (a South Lewis Serbian exchange student living here in Turin with the Liendecker family) will be here to answer questions and entertain us with Serbian facts.  He is a wonderful student with a great personality and sense of humor, it should be a very entertaining evening!

Mohawk Nation Singers Coming to the Library on March 15th at 6:00

Wonderful Native American Singers are coming to the Turin Library on Friday, March 15th at 6:00. The Ahkwesahsne Women Singers is an award winning traditional women's singing group from the Mohawk Nation. They share songs of the Earth to keep their language alive. They will tell stories, sing songs, share dances, and even encourage audience participation!


Memories of Snow Ridge through the Years!

We are very excited to have a special program on the history of Snow Ridge on Saturday, March 2nd at 6:00.  There will be slides from when it started in 1945 through the years until now.  The authors of "White Magic- the Story of Snow Ridge Ski Area" (Jerome Britton and Bronny Davis) will be in attendance to answer questions or comment on the photos.  We are encouraging everyone to come and enjoy this program and to share their wonderful memories of Snow Ridge as well.  

Student Art Show at the Library Through Friday, March 1st

Stop into the library during our regular hours to see the wonderful artwork of our South Lewis students.  People are voting for their favorite art piece for middle and high school, and elementarty school.  The "Patron's Choice Awards" will be revealed on Frida,y March 1st at our Final Reception.  Stop in anytime between 7-9:00 that night to see the award winners, visit with some of the artists and teachers, and enjoy the live music of Play Me Studio students!

Christmas Basket Winner is Silas Luther!

Silas Luther is the winner of our Annual Christmas Basket Raffle!  The basket was overflowing with fun Christmas items. Congratulations Silas, hope you loved it!

Christmas Fun at the Library!

We are all ready for Christmas here at the library! Great tree decorators, and the Christmas Village looks WONDERFUL! Calendars are here for sale, and our Christmas Basket Raffle fundraiser for the Friends Group is on as well. Come for our Christmas Party on Sunday, December 9th... face painting and songs from 5:30-6:00, and Santa comes at 6:00! A very festive community time for people of all ages!! Ho Ho Ho!!! 

Native American Display at the Library

In honor of the indigenous people of this country the Turin Library has local and southwestern items on display through the month of November . The Lewis County Historical Society has loaned stone implements and arrowheads found in the county.  Winona Einhorn has graciously lent a Iroquois head dress, drum and many other items.  The southwestern artifacts are from the collection of Barb Oeschger of Lyonsdale.  Be sure to stop in to have a look at this fascinating display. the library hours are Monday 3-6:00, Wednesday 1-9:00 and Thursday 7-9:00.

Fiddle Fun with Jackie Hobbs!

Jackie Chereshnoski Hobbs (granddaughter of the late Alice Clemens, and inductee in the North American Fiddlers Hall of Fame) will entertain us with wonderful fiddle music. If people are interested, she will even call a square or contra dance, as well! Join us for some great "old-time" community fun! Great for people of all ages!
