Live Music Coffeehouse!

Stop in to the Turin Library on Friday, March 11th from 7:00-9:00 for some free, live music!  We will have two different acts; Dan Vellone will play “Americana Folk” and Dan Bradish/Matt Macauley will be playing “Classic Rock”.  Come for some of it, or stay for the whole show. Wonderful event for people of all ages!   Refreshments will be available, and of course….Coffee!      

Celebrating Dr. Seuss!

Thursday, February 25th we will offer private showings of your choice of old Dr. Seuss movies.  Wednesday, March 2nd from 1:00-9:00 we have very treats for anyone (both young and old) that comes in and reads a Dr. Seuss book!  That is the day of Dr. Seuss's birthday and National Read a Child a Book Day!  To continue the celebration week, we will have a great Dr. Seuss Storyhour for kids of all ages on Saturday, March 5th from 10:00-11:00.  Join us! :)

Family Game Night on February 12th 7-8:30

We will be holding another Family Game Night on Friday, February 12th from 7-8:30.  Grownups and families are invited to come and play some table games, puzzles, cards, etc.  If you have a favorite game to play, feel free to bring it along!

January Game Night and Ice Storm Report of 1998!

We will be having our next Game Night on January 8th from 7-9:00.  We will also be showing our new DVD made from the WWNY TV Coverage of the Ice Storm of 1998!  Join us for games and reminiscing!

We still have three calendars available.  For just $20.00 each, you can enjoy looking at Turin the way it used to be, many moons ago!  Stop at the library, or email or Facebook us to reserve yours before they are gone! 

Fun Night with Santa!

We had a lot of fun visiting with Santa!  The Christmas village looked wonderful thanks to the D'Ambrosi family, Adam Rhoades won the Christmas basket raffle, and the kids received some nice gifts!  In all, it was a great way to start off the Holiday Season!  Thanks for coming everyone!  Highlight and open the attached link to see some of our photos from the season.

Santa Night at the Library!

Come one and all to our Community Singalong and Santa visit!  Fun for all ages on Sunday, December 13th at 6:00.  We will unveil the D'Ambrosi Christmas village, little ones can visit with Santa and get a gift, and the rest can eat, sing and be merry! 

Historical Turin Calendars will be available again!

The calendars are here and ready to be purchased.  For just $20.00 you can have a wonderful year of old time memories with the way Turin used to be! They make excellent Christmas gifts. Last year they went quickly, (we only have 8 left) so call, email, or Facebook the library if you want one reserved! 

Local book on Glenfield area for sale here!

A new local history book by Paul Joslyn is available for sale at the library.  This wonderful book called Mostly Memoires...A Story of Three Villages, (Glendale, Glendield, and Greig) is an excellent walk down memory lane!  It contains photos, facts, newspaper clippings, and "memories" about the "Three G" area.  It is well worth the cost of $25.00.  Call the library if you want us to reserve you a copy, or just stop in to peruse ours or pick one up!

DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Genealogy Workshop

On Saturday, November 7th at 1:00, the local chapter of the DAR will be holding a workshop at the Turin Library for anyone interested in seeing if they have lineage back to the American Revolution.  Gretchen Maresco, NYS Lineage Research Chairman will be presenting a workshop on how to determine if you are a descendent of a "patriot".   This interesting workshop will also be attended by the NYS Registrar Pat Taylor, and the NYS Chaplain.  To register or for more information, call the library at 348-6433, or Marian Guillaume at 749-3624.
